Assignment and Grade Services, usually shortened to AGS, is the LTI® Advantage service for grades. It lets a tool create a line item in the gradebook, post a score for a user, and read back what is recorded.
It replaces LTI® 1.1's Basic Outcomes, which could only return a single decimal for the launch that was in progress.
Availability is granted per context, so a tool can have grading in one course and not another. See manipulating grades.
