Line Item

A line item is a single column in the gradebook — one thing that can be graded, with a maximum score. Tools create them through Assignment and Grade Services so they have somewhere to put a score.

A line item usually belongs to a resource link, which ties the column to the activity that produces it, and can carry a tag so a tool can find its own columns again.
