A service key authenticates calls to LTI® services when no launch is in progress. It is returned in the ID Token when a launch has access to Assignment and Grade Services or Names and Roles.
Unlike the ltik, it does not expire, which makes it the right credential for scheduled work. Each one represents a single launch context, so store it against the context it came from.
